The new R 107 series was launched in April 1971 as the 350 SL with a V8 engine and 147 kW/200 hp. This was a successful roadster, after all it was built for 19 years! Over the long production cycle, there were various engine variants, including six-cylinder for the European market, but the most powerful engine was the V8. The last major optimisation of this series took place in September 1985. The 420 SL is exactly halfway between the 300 SL and 500 SL. A rare classic, only 2,148 examples were built.
Our Mercedes-Benz 420 SL Roadster has the highly attractive colour dark blue (MB 904) and the matching interior in grey. The read mileage of approx. 134,000 km is low for the V8 engine. Included in the really attractive price is a sheet metal damage to the front passenger side, correctly repaired by a specialist workshop. This classic car always drove in Northern Germany: Check out this magnificent SL from the last year of construction.
