When the new limousines from the series W 111 were first presented, it made the Ponton-Cabriolets and Ponton-Coupés look outdated. This was ameliorated by Paul Bracq’s masterful design and the new Cabriolets and Coupés were grand and an instant success. The large 3-liter engine arrived in February 1962 and the 300 SE Cabriolets and Coupés offered technology at its finest. But these luxury cars were expensive (the Cabriolet cost DM 34,750) and thus only 3,127 cars were made, 708 of them Cabriolets.

Our Mercedes-Benz 300 SE Cabriolet was delivered on August 10, 1967 near Zurich and was with its first owner until it reached 80,000 kilometers. It was then registered in France and has been registered in Germany since 1999. At 85,000 kilometers it got an original Mercedes exchange transmission. Since 2014 the cassic has been with its current German owner. Everything about this oldtimer is correct and authentic, its history documented so it’s ready to go!
