In the late 1940s, the US sports car craze spilled over to Europe. The English with MG, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Singer, AC etc. were the first to reach the huge US market. But Daimler-Benz AG also closely monitored this sales market. Thus, from 1952, breathtaking wooden models were created. Finally, in May 1955 it was time: The Mercedes 190 SL came to the market. The Roadster looked racy, but his nature was that of a rock-solid two-seat touring car. And that turned out to be successful, because from 1955 to 1963 at least 25.881 190 SL were delivered. From today’s perspective, a small amount. So this classic car is always something special. If you do not use it as a sports car, but as a sporty touring car, it brings a lot of joy on long trips.
Our Mercedes 190 SL stems from the first year of construction, with the rare bucket seats and only one sun visor. The car has been extensively restored in Germany and is now ready for the next exit. A long highway in a beautiful landscape is his domain.
