Since 1906, the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost has been a legendary automobile. It was called the “best car in the world”. Henry Royce set great store by the best workmanship and little driving noise. Sportiness was not a priority. From 1925 the successor New Phantom was ready. Already since 1921 there was a Rolls-Royce factory in Springfield, USA. This type was also built there from 1926 onwards, a total of 1,241 examples. The American bodies are considered more elegant, also technically there are small differences to the Derby, Great Britain, built chassis.
Our Rolls-Royce New Phantom, later called Phantom I, has a ravishingly elegant Sedan Convertible body by Brewster. The American-built classic is, of course, left-hand drive. The quality is beyond reproach. The Phantom also carried the title of “best car in the world”. Since then, there have been other luxury classic cars from these times, but the Nimbus Rolls-Royce is something very special indeed.
