In 1933 the aging model Stuttgart was replaced with the model 200 and very quickly customers asked for higher performance especially from the models with long wheelbase. That is how the 230 with 55 PS was born. In its day, it was an upper middle class car and would translate to the E-class today.
The first owner of our 230 was Dr. Raudnitzky from Breslau (Poland) according to the Mercedes archive. In 1983 this “oldtimer” came to Germany from the CSSR and was in its original state. The buyer had it completely restored and registered it in 1999. For several years now it has been driving around Northern Germany with its second owner. What stands out about this Mercedes 230 is its original large folding sliding roof. The car is authentic and drives confidently and is most at home on country roads at up to 80 km/h. This classic car is a wonderful historic example from the second half of the 1930s.
