At the end of January 1969 Ford introduced the Capri in Germany. Developed in partnership with the British Ford manufacturing site, the Capri was a type of “Ford Mustang Mini” for Europe. The Capri became an instant “hit” and Ford’s sales grew rapidly. Its great shape, attractive price and variety of models made it a success. The series I produced 784,000 cars in Germany and in 1974 the Capri II was introduced. Its main new feature was the large tailgate which transformed thee Capri into a stationwagon coupe. Starting in 1978, the last model, unofficially called “Capri III” was made.
Our Ford Capri 2.0 was registered in Switzerland and is now in Germany with its second owner. It has only driven 26,400 kilometers so this classic is in the excellent condition of a young used car.
