The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow heralded a new era for the luxury manufacturer. A modern body, innovative technology combined with the highest quality, and ease of use were its standout features. The self-supporting body left little scope for traditional coachbuilders; customized bodywork was no longer possible. From April 1966, Rolls-Royce offered a coupé and, from autumn 1967, a stunningly beautiful convertible. The somewhat cumbersome name was: Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Drophead Coupé (DHC), and it was manufactured by the company’s own coachbuilder, Mulliner Park Ward. This model range was available until 1995. From 1971, it was known as the Corniche.
Our Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Drophead Coupé was built in 1967, making it a very early model. In this classic car, with its dark blue paintwork and cognac-coloured leather interior with a magnificent fine-wood dashboard, one feels as though one is in an English gentleman’s study.
