Donald Healey and Leonard Lord, head of Austin, built a strong sports car for the American market, the Austin-Healey 100. The AH 3000 was developed from various platforms, inscluding the AH 100 and the AH 100 six. The late-generation Austin-Healey 3000 offered the highest standard engine performance of its kind and by far the most comfort. The MK III version with crank windows and easy-to-use folding convertible top is preferred today.

Our Austin Healey MK III was produced in this color combination in the last month of production in November 1967. The Roadster was originally shipped to the US and came to Germany in 2008. Since then, the sports car is registered in Germany and was always cared for in a specialist workshop in Hamburg/Germany. In 2010/2011, the complete engine and the front axle were restored. This late and mature AH BJ8 convinces with its correct and typical coloring and presents itself in very good condition. Look forward to a great engine sound, performance and unparalleled driving pleasure.

Austin-Healey 3000 MK III BJ 8

The Healey 1000 was a sensation at the Earl’s Court Motorshow in London in 1952. Initially Austin only supplied the engines but the tremendous success led to Austin taking over the entire production under Austin-Healey. Initially the roadster was a clonky but its continuous development turned the Austin-Healey into a cultivated sports car. In 1956 its 4-cylinder engine was replaced with 6 cylinders.

Our Austin-Healey 3000 is from the last series as MK III with 150 PS. The convertible edition with crank windows and a proper roof is most popular today. The classic car has been with the same owner since 1992 and has been partially restored. It has never been disassembled and its core is very solid. This 52-year old car is registered in Germany and in very good condition. This is very unusual for a car of its kind and makes it a collector’s item and a fully functioning car at the same time!
