Mercedes-Benz 280 SL

To create an open sports car successor for the famous 300 SL and the very successful 190 SL was a challenging task. So when the brand new 230 SL arrived in 1963 the reviews were mixed. The modern Roadster was certainly an excellent backfill for the 190 SL but not the 300 SL. Six-cylinder engine, power steering, disk brakes and automatic transmission on demand are all technical details that are valid today.

Our Mercedes-Benz 280 SL from the last series was delivered in 1969 by the Daimler-Benz dealership in Frankfurt/Germany. The classic sports car is with its 3rd owner today. Its papers are complete and available and its mileage of 145,000 kms is confirmed through service certificates. This Roadster has never been restored but certainly repaired, e.g. the fenders were replaced and painted in its original color. Additionally, the car received body-cavity sealing. This classic is a German vehicle in best shape for use which is a rarity.

Mercedes-Benz SL 500 “Special Edition”

Mercedes-Benz presents the SL on the Automobile Exhibition in 1989, which shows a new constructed car thoroughly. The feedback was straightaway very positive and after a short time it was foreseeable that the sheduled production capacity of 20.000 units p.a. is used to capacity for many years. Multi-annual terms of delivery must be accept. Chief designer Bruno Sacco has done a very good job.The SL was mentioned with the “Car Design Award” one year after presentation. The SL was produced until July 2001.Several special versions narrow the range .

Our SL 500 is a “Special Edition”,only 500 units are ever built. The car was exported to Japan directly after production. It had only two pre-owner based on the documents. In 2017 the car was imported from the one and only german owner through a dealer. The data card and several invoices make this offer complete. The SL is an interesting collector car based on the very well-kept condition and the limited units .
